Chris and Kara summed up their relationship in three words. Honesty, Adventure and happiness. Their springtime garden wedding reflected this. It was quintessentially an English country garden look which had to be seen to be believed. The romantic ceremony was followed by a stunning reception, held in a beautiful glass roofed conservatory. It was like something straight out of a midsummer night’s dream!
The day began with a relaxed brunch at Queesnpark, for all the guests attending the wedding. Consequently, this allowed Chris and Kara to spend plenty of time with everyone, as we all know it can get busy at the wedding itself. It was then onto the couple’s chosen venue, Gabbinbar Homestead, for a wedding like no other.
Chris and Kara chose Jarrad Bayliss to be their celebrant, with the ceremony and reception both held at Gabbinbar Homestead. This was also the location of the couple’s wedding photography – and what a wonderful backdrop it made.
Furthermore, Karas dress was made by the groom’s sister. Kate Gubanyi of the GC bridal lounge, whilst the groom wore Instichu. Kara’s hair was perfected by Hannah Hensley, and her make-up look was created by Marley Hammond. The team from Fable house films were on hand to capture the special moments with their epic cinematography. Floral decor was designed by Deanes Wedding Flowers.
Following their evening party Chris and Kara left to spend some quality time together – but they soon realised they’d been so busy celebrating all day that they hadn’t had a chance to eat much at all. So – it was a midnight run to Maccas on this pair’s wedding night!
Chris and Kara then headed off on a mini moon where they revisited all the places they’d stayed while they were falling in love. Likewise, on the wedding night itself they stayed at Preston’s eco ridge hideaway. The first place they ever went away together.
Finally it was a five day retreat in a cabin outside of Tenterfield, complete with uninterrupted views of beautiful landscapes and rolling hills. They also made time for a trip to Stanthorpe, staying at a vineyard and indulging in some of the best wines around. It sounds like an unbeatable way to start married life together to me. ... Hannah and Matt- A picture perfect Springtime Wedding
Hannah and Matt met during their schooldays. It wasn’t until a few years later that Matt plucked up the courage to start chatting to Hannah. And the rest, as they say, is history!
Fast forward several years and Hannah and Matt were preparing to spend their whole lives together. They celebrated their love with an unforgettable wedding ceremony in the company of their nearest and dearest.
This couple describe their relationship as fun, chilled and loving. To Hannah and Matt, marriage means trusting, giving and being willing to change. It means security in each other’s love and support. It means always having someone to talk to, laugh with, confide in, and work together with.
Hannah walked down the aisle to a wonderful cover of I’m Gonna be (500 Miles) by Sleeping at Last. The meaningful lyrics made for an incredibly emotional start to this wedding ceremony. The couple’s celebrant was Kate Turner, and both the ceremony and reception took place at Cowbell Creek, a truly picturesque setting with photo opportunities galore.
Catering was provided by Catering by Clancy’s, and flowers were designed by Missy Labelle. The Brides Mane managed hair and make-up for Hannah, who chose a dress from Grace loves Lace. The Groom chose Tarocash for his suit, and Wood and Beau for bowties, cufflinks and socks. Anchored Cinema headed up the cinematography, creating a beautiful wedding film for this couple to treasure for many years to come.
I asked Hannah and Matt what stood out about each other. Their responses really summed up why they’re such a perfect pair. Hannah said that Matt has “a pretty good sense of humour – he makes me laugh (sometimes at him, sometimes with him haha). He is open and honest and 100% selfless, he has become my best friend the one person that I confide in about all my feelings, the one I vent to after a tough day and after a successful day, the person that picks me up after I’ve crumbled to the ground with uncontrollable sobbing.”
In return, Matt told us that he loves Hannah because “she is energetic and high spirited. I love her laugh that I can always hear when she is over the moon. She is the most determined, strong minded person I know she will never let anything get in her way.”
After their ceremony, Hannah and Matt took to the dance floor for their first dance. They chose Ed Sheeran’s Tenerife – after all, you’ve got to have a bit of Ed Sheeran at a wedding haven’t you?! The newlyweds then partied hard with their 70 guests – until about 10pm!
It was a honour being part of this loved-up couple’s wedding day, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for them. Congratulations, Hannah and Matt!
Happiness will exude you in all of life’s finest moments. It will creep up through unexpected times. It is revealed as mornings wake and when passions of love ignite. Happiness is exactly what graced every moment of the day Emily and Paul became one. The smiles were wide. Every moment of the day, had them with the love surrounding, will no doubt continue for their lifetime together.
“Marriage for me is about demonstrating my commitment to share your lives together, being there for each other through anything and everything.”
There were games, first looks and a beautiful first kiss as their guests watched on with hearts exploding; one hundred and ten of their finest, an almost even mix form Australia and the UK gave these two lovers an incredible initiation into their first few hours as husband and wife – I guess thats what it made for the ultimate celebration!
Everyone came together under the Octobers skies of Austinvilla Estate, with a hinterland outlook and a hidden treasure, this incredible Gold Coast venue unveiled a day of magic for all those fortunate to be a part of. The simple rustic styling perfectly complimented the warm love and of course that kind of happiness we spoke about earlier, the kind that makes you giddy inside, that makes you smile even when you’re just an onlooker.
Being there to witness this pure goodness unfold was truly an honour. With journeys that have individually led you together, and now the ones that await you as one, I have no doubt that the world is in for wild ride.

With all the bad weather we have had lately, Ive decided to give you some pointers on how to prepare for the rain.
No one wants rain on their wedding day. But if there’s one thing we can’t control, it’s the weather. No matter when or where you’re getting married, there’s always a chance of rain. The best advice I can give you is to be prepared. Follow my tips below and you’ll have the day of your dreams, come rain or shine.
Have a backup plan
No matter how much planning you do, rain can really throw a spanner in the works. It’s always worth having a backup plan for any outdoor formalities just in case the weather does turn sour.
When booking your vendors, speak to them about wet weather requirements and ensure that they have options for rainy days. Consider where you might move your guests to if it does rain, and ensure that no one’s left out in the cold! Even if you don’t end up using this backup plan, it’s well worth having one in place. If nothing else it’ll give you peace of mind – one less thing to worry about!
Check the forecast
Im sure we won’t have to remind you to do this, as most couples will have one eye on the weather forecast throughout the days and weeks leading up to their special day! The forecast is generally not incredibly reliable a few weeks before the wedding, but if you get to one or two days before and rain is being predicted, then you’ll know it’s time to instate your rainy day backup plan. Often, even if rain is on the agenda, it won’t rain for the whole day, so you may be able to adjust timings and still make the most of any sunnier periods on the day. Embrace the rain
If it’s going to rain, it’s going to rain. It doesn’t matter how disappointed you may be, or how much of your planning has just gone out of the window. So, I really recommend that if rain is predicted for your wedding day, you let go of the sadness and embrace it! You don’t want to let a silly thing like rain get in the way of one of the most magical days of your life, do you? Remember, guests moods’ feed off of those of the newlyweds themselves, so if you’re loving the rain and partying the night away regardless, they will be too.
Keep guests cosy
Nothing saps the party mood quite like soggy, chilly guests, so make sure your wet weather plans keep everyone warm and cosy at all times. If guests do have to be outside during some parts of the day, provide wet weather gear such as umbrellas, and blankets to keep them snug. You can even design these items around your overall wedding theme to ensure the whole day still looks Pinterest-worthy, even if the weather’s not great!
Strike a pose
A rain shower on your wedding day isn’t all bad. In fact, it offers some amazing photo opportunities. Let’s not forget, many of the most romantic moments from blockbuster movies feature couples in the rain! So, if you’re willing to really embrace that rain and make the most of the incredible backdrop it provides, talk to your photographer about an outdoor wedding photo shoot. Photos like these are well worth getting wet for; you’ll be amazed at the end results.
If your wedding day is looming ever closer and you’re not 100% confident that the sun’s going to shine, don’t panic. Despite what Alanis Morisette would have us believe, rain on your wedding day isn’t the end of the world. It just leaves you with a few more decisions to make! Embrace the rain, it’s still going to be one of the best days of your life! ... See MoreSee Less
RAD WORD ALERT: Thank you so much Emma and Robbie!
"For our wedding, photography was on the top of my list of priorities. On the day we could not have asked for more. Mitch was so calm and easy going, he was everywhere but nowhere all at the same time! When we got our photos I could not believe the number of shots he took (or how many awesome candid photos) because I barely saw him for the whole night. Nothing was too much trouble (even family or friends asking for their own photos) and Mitch was so accommodating with delays in times (hair and makeup, late ceremony, etc). We felt comfortable the whole day and that comes across in the photos - even the posed photos look natural and unforced which is what we wanted. Mitch said to us that his goal is to capture the feelings of the day and that's exactly what he did. Our photos are truly amazing! We got our photos exactly when he said we would and he has been great with communication and keeping us in the loop. I would highly recommend Mitch to anyone. I would also highly recommend getting the videography package as well - we did and the videography/photography package is the best money we ever spent!" ... See MoreSee Less

For many brides, the dress is one of the most important aspects of the big day. Whether you’ve dreamed of a fairytale princess gown since you were a little girl, or you’ve just recently spotted something high fashion and oh so elegant, there’s no denying the fact that your beautiful gown will be a huge part of your wedding. Finding the dress of your dreams is no mean feat, however. Whilst some brides stumble upon the perfect dress in the first store they walk into, many others spend months searching high and low for the one dress that makes them feel a million dollars. So, if you’re about to start your dress search Ive got a few tips to help you on your way.
Stay True to Your Style
When it comes to wedding dresses there are a huge range of styles. There are elaborate ball gowns, simple understated a-line dresses, crystal-embellished glitzy little numbers and so much in between.
Some brides are tempted to go for something which they would never normally wear, but do this and you risk having last minute regrets or feeling a little uncomfortable on your big day. It’s much better to opt for something which is more you, by staying true to your own style and choosing the dress that best fits with what you’d normally choose.
Be Open Minded
No doubt you’ll have been thinking about your dress since your dearly beloved first put the engagement ring on your finger, but having a set idea of what you want can often lead to disappointment.
Try to be open minded when trying on dresses. Explore different styles and options to see how different gowns make you feel. We often hear of brides choosing something they’d never imagined wearing, and completely disregarding what they were initially looking for once they find that special dress.
Think About Your Day
No matter how important the dress is to you, it’s crucial that you also think about the kind of wedding that you have planned. For example, beach weddings require a completely different type of dress to formal indoor winter weddings. Think about where you’re celebrating and what time of year it will be. If you’ve got a big party planned you’ll want to make sure you can move freely in your dress when you hit the dance floor later on. Make sure your dress suits your wedding day and you’ll feel far more comfortable and happy wearing it. Some brides opt for two dresses to get around this, choosing a more formal dress for the ceremony and a slightly more relaxed look for the evening celebrations.
Don’t Forget The Budget
It’s easy to get carried away when you see the dress of your dreams, but if you know you can’t afford the dress you’ve got your eye on it’s a much better idea not to try it on in the first place!
If you do try on dresses that are miles out of your price range, you just know you’re going to become infatuated with something you can’t have. Not only will this make any other dresses you try on afterwards feel a little disappointing, it’ll also likely take a little fun out of the wedding dress shopping experience.
Try to stick to dresses and stores which fit with your budget, and let your bridal advisor know what your budget is as soon as you arrive, so he or she will know which dresses to show you, and which ones to leave on the rails. Trust us, this could save you a lot of heartache!
Enjoy the Experience
Often brides go into wedding dress shopping with sky-high expectations and a concrete idea of what they’re looking for. So, it’s easy to see how the whole experience can soon turn sour as disappointment looms.
We strongly recommend that you make the most of your wedding dress shopping experience, making a day out out of each shopping trip and inviting key members of your bridal party to help you find the dream dress. It’s not every day that you’ll find your perfect wedding dress, and when you do you’ll be elated. But until then, there’s so much fun to be had looking! Enjoy it, soak it up and make the most of your pre-wedding excitement.
I hope these tips help you in your quest to find the perfect dress for your big day. Remember, no matter which dress you choose, you’re guaranteed to steal the show when you walk down that aisle. Happy dress hunting! ... See MoreSee Less

Carmen and Dave As a photographer I have always been such a big believer in the whole ‘a picture tells a thousand words’ kinda saying, and yes, I whole heartedly do believe this, but – there is always a but! Sometimes you meet two people, who without even a breath can take their speechless love and turn it into words that make you melt.
Carmen and Dave were what you would call destiny at its finest. First meeting while working on the ultimate honeymoon destination island, Hayman Island, Carmen took 12 months to travel the globe and yet came back to those elated feelings that Dave had instilled within her heart before she had even left. It was all systems go from there, surprise first dates and endless chatter leading to what is now a forever kind of thing.
“David surprised me and took me to the fanciest restaurant on Hayman Island, La Fontaine. I woke up to a post it note on the door of my room, saying to dress up and be ready by 7pm. He arrived at 7pm that night dressed in a suit with a flower. I don’t think we had a pause in conversation all night.”
This giddy love became their constant, and the words they speak of each other are way too beautiful not to share – it’s like classic romantic chick-flick moments but in real life!
“I love how loyal he is, his kindness, his attitude to life and he is one of the strongest people I know. I love that he is taller than me. I love his ambition, his positive outlook on the world and his never give up attitude for what he wants. He is always dreaming and striving for more. I love how happy he makes me. I love that he is always interested in all my stories.”
“I love how beautiful she is both inside and out. I love her cooking. I love that she lets me be me. She trusts me completely, she is kind-hearted and funny. I love that she is not too serious. I admire her ability to motivate me when I am feeling flat, she knows how to get me going again and put me back on the path I had started. She is very talented, she makes a house feel like a home”
And true to all these words, their Wedding was filled with all these little things making it oh, so special. Heartfelt moments with family, traditions carried on and new ones were created to include those most cherished who could only be there in spirit; these are the kinds that will never be forgotten and relived with happiness every time they think of their beautiful celebration.

The whole day was effortless perfection; a winter wedding like no other, filled with all the tiny details that made this celebration live up to its name of a ‘once in a lifetime’ kind of day. From her detailed gown right through to the delicate native florals from Huckleberry Flowers, this festival inspired wedding was lit from within for all the right reasons.
Taneille and Nick chose the exquisite grounds of Yabbaloumba Retreat to hold their wedding celebration and it was simply breathtaking, Hosting both their ceremony and reception in this divine location, Taneille and Nick took full advantage of forest like surroundings and opted to camp on site for a weekend of prewedding vibes in true festival style; and just like most, it ended as the sun rose for the following day with a million memories in hand and hearts – and (of course) a few extra layers to battle the winter midnight dew!
But it wasn’t just these details that will forever be remembered, it was the energy these two lovers radiated; two souls that just down right loved each other, like, whole hearted, fully deep in love, love – and you could totally feel it!
“Our first dance song was iFly – Ball Park Music. Because the lyrics are true ‘I love you’.”
The whole weekend was made up of everything that represented them. It was calm when it needed to be and a storm where due (the partying bit), but when we set off into the forest to capture some special moments together, their gentle nature and passion for each other opened up as they enjoyed a few moments alone before quickly joining their 180 guests to celebrate well and truly into the wee hours of night.
“ With the help of Pitch Luxury,We camped on grounds, keeping the atmosphere going throughout the weekend. We partied hard. Was not an early night.” And why would you when you have your best friends by your side and the whole place to yourself!?
Relaxed yet organised, simple but stylish; it was a glamping done in true wedding style with a (big) splash of party vibes. It was open arms and huge hearts from all those who were there to witness this special love and I am so grateful to have been there to capture it all unfold. ... See MoreSee Less
“It felt wonderful to have all our families together to help us celebrate. To have everyone who loved us in the one place was so special.”
It was a day of clear skies and full hearts as Claudia and Tyson bound up their sweet love and became husband and wife. The ever-glow of the astounding Cowbell Creek wedding venue took breaths away as it lit up the night with overhanging festoon warmth, adding to the already dazzling bride and groom themselves.
The afternoon ceremony was filled with romance, in the air and in the surrounding styling. Red velvet florals stood proud and that deep depth in the greenery made for the most spectacular backdrop as Claudia and her girls stood out with oh so much beauty in a bright bold lip and fur coats to match – a winter wedding essential I must say!
With an abundance of happiness overflowing throughout the day, Claudia’s kind hearted nature came out to play making sure their fur-babies were right by their side, quite literally, having gifted Tyson with custom cufflinks featuring their two favourites, - but the puppy love didn’t stop there, they were right there when this journey began! “When Tyson proposed we would frequently go for walks through the forest. Tyson decided that we should go for a walk to show my mum and dad the area and take our dog, Gaffa, for a walk too. Half way up the bush trail Tyson took off at a sprint with Gaffa, leaving me with mum and dad. I stayed with them and we walked up together to find Gaffa in a tuxedo Tyson in a tie, white shirt and dress pants down on one knee. Gaffa had an engraved tag with “will you marry me?” engraved on it. It was the best surprise.” Claudia was oozing with happiness as she walked down the aisle to her favourite version of Hallelujah bringing back all hose nostalgic feels as she walked toward her new chapter of life in the proud hands of the one who created it. It was a perfect day of celebration and an absolute honour to capture. ... See MoreSee Less

When core values align and a random date on an Easter Sunday is described as your ‘best date ever’, you know you’re in for a treat.
Kim and Dan found love when they least expected it, and unbeknown to them, a night out filled with dinner, drinks and dancing lead to what was now pronounced as husband and wife during the ceremony of a lifetime at Cameron Lodge Cottage and Gardens, Mt Macedon.
With a colder season looming upon us, we took full advantage of the colours that surrounded this stunning wedding venue. From the fiery winter hues of the fallen autumn leaves right through to the lush bold greenery that hung above, it felt like a whole new world celebrating such an incredible milestone with these two lovers – did someone mention lakeside strolls and fur coats? It was warm, rustic yet felt like a little 90’s royalty love story – perfection at its finest! Just like their first date they partied hard into the night and celebrated a beautiful new beginning with scrumptious morning brunch telling the tales of the night and saying their goodbyes before their three week honeymoon of a lifetime; two weeks road tripping the icy caps of NZ, then a week of defrosting in the Hawaiian sun (insert jealous face here).
As a photographer we always get to capture the essence of each beautifully unique wedding; the colours, the vibes, the big smiles and the happy tears; and while each picture speaks its own story it is always so amazing to hear true details from the bride and groom. We asked Kim and Dan what the meaning of marriage meant to them and little did they know that each response would intertwine into a perfect kind of forever;
“It means supporting one another, working together as a team and considering each other in all you do. It’s knowing that not every day is going to be perfect, but that the love you have for one another will get you through every time. It’s also great knowing you have a best friend who is also your lover.”
“Marriage to me is the beginning of our own family, something I can’t wait for. It’s all about looking after and out for one another, knowing what we both need and supporting each other. Communication in our relationship has been a big part of us thus far so I believe commination is key for a successful marriage.” ... See MoreSee Less

High school sweet hearts that were exactly that, the two sweetest of hearts!
Gushing with honest love and pure happiness, this day was filled with wide-cheeked smiles and a few rainy drops; but in no way did this take away from the perfection of the wedded bliss set on Home Beach, Stradbroke Island; in fact, quite the contrary.
“It was fantastic to see no one was really bothered with it and to see our beautiful family and friends embrace the weather, standing in the sand, shoes in hand while it rained during our ceremony”
And while these sweet moments surrounded by others was one of many momentous occasions, it was a few quiet moments alone when Michael had whisked his now darling wife away during their wedding reception to sit back, watch and soak up all the love and energy flowing while she resided in his arms.
“I love his sense for adventure. He’s incredibly energetic and has a wonderful sense for adventure and discovery that I love. Also his dimples, I’m obsessed with them!” – and boy had he lived up to this special little trait of his! Most Noteworthy, his proposal was the ultimate perfection! It was a very well thought out plan, extremely sentimental and delivered with an outburst of surprise to the woman of his dreams, but it was the moments after the blissful question that reminded Cassie (even more than she already knew) the reason Michael was her forever kind of lover.
On the sandy surrounds of Stradbroke Island, Michael took Cassie on surprise weekend away. What would normally have been a few days of camping turned into a few nights drinking champagne and staying up late talking all things dreamy in a beautiful house overlooking the water, as ‘all the other accommodation was booked’- but he had a few cheeky tricks up his sleeve. As Michael set up the phone into video mode, he told Cassie he had a surprise; she thought this was it, the moment she had been waiting for! Much to her surprise, he handed her a much larger box with a beautiful Camilla number in it! As the sun set, they walked along the shoreline and the night lit up with candles and fairy lights as he got down on one knee asked Cassie to be his wife.
But After a sneaky champagne (yep, he’d thought of it all!) they strolled back to the house to once again catch Cassie out with another surprise; a house full of their closest friends ready to join in on the fine occasion of celebration!
Most of all now a whole world of adventure awaits you both; and there is no doubt that it will be a loving, fun filled one at that! ... See MoreSee Less
Zita and Damon They met unexpectedly during a day of celebration; the happiness was flowing and among a few sneaky beverages, Damon and Zita found themselves side by side with the good vibes in full swing – those feels certainly didn’t end there. Six years on, just before sunset, Damon asked Zita to spend the rest of their days as one. After what I imagine would have been an excitedly huge yes, it was onto all the details to plan the most beautiful day ever, the incredible wedded bliss and their brand new adventure as husband and wife.
Hidden in picturesque surrounds of Brisbane, Mount Cotton stood proudly hosting the romantic coming together of this sweet love. Everything was so relaxed, effortless so to speak – it was honestly a photographers dream! Family and friends filled the grounds of Sirromet Winery starting their journey witnessing an exquisite Laugna ceremony and the beautiful words spoken between the newly wed husband and wife. “The whole day was totally amazing but I will never forget walking down the aisle along with our vows.”
As the day turned into night and the formalities subsided the fun and cheek came out to play. Styled with the perfect amount of grace and simplicity, it was a flawless canvas, and the most beautiful day for this incredible love – now go and enjoy that NZ honeymoon!!
