Zita and Damon
They met unexpectedly during a day of celebration; the happiness was flowing and among a few sneaky beverages, Damon and Zita found themselves side by side with the good vibes in full swing – those feels certainly didn’t end there. Six years on, just before sunset, Damon asked Zita to spend the rest of their days as one. After what I imagine would have been an excitedly huge yes, it was onto all the details to plan the most beautiful day ever, the incredible wedded bliss and their brand new adventure as husband and wife.

Hidden in picturesque surrounds of Brisbane, Mount Cotton stood proudly hosting the romantic coming together of this sweet love. Everything was so relaxed, effortless so to speak – it was honestly a photographers dream! Family and friends filled the grounds of Sirromet Winery starting their journey witnessing an exquisite Laugna ceremony and the beautiful words spoken between the newly wed husband and wife.
“The whole day was totally amazing but I will never forget walking down the aisle along with our vows.”

As the day turned into night and the formalities subsided the fun and cheek came out to play. Styled with the perfect amount of grace and simplicity, it was a flawless canvas, and the most beautiful day for this incredible love – now go and enjoy that NZ honeymoon!!

Linda and Brodie

“I admire her strength and courage. She is my perfect balance, quirky and beautiful inside and out.”

Nestled in the heart of Brookfield, on the tranquil grounds of Bundaleer Rainforest Gardens, rested the most incredible surrounding of unspoiled sanctuary; a place of complete peace with the only granted disruption being that of the crazy beautiful love of Linda and Brodie; two people who were once allocated to sit next to each other and have not been separated since.

Kindness and quirkiness exuded both of these two lovers during a day that celebrated the love they held so dearly for each other and the culture in which their hearts reside.
With a modern rustic vibe throughout, Linda and Brodie combined a beautiful Chinese tradition by hosting a Chinese Wedding Tea Ceremony after the formalities to show gratitude towards their parents for all the years of nurture and love. In turn, family expressed their blessings for the newlyweds and welcomed all extended relatives into a forever family.

As a wedding photographer it is all about capturing those candid moments, those little pieces of happiness that unfold in the split of a second, then frozen to last a lifetime – and along with Outback Polaks cinematography, we had a million of them. In one of Brisbane’s most stunning and unique wedding venues, Linda and Brodie set their hearts free and filled our day with laugh out loud moments and unforgettable stories; and with that comes the tale of the ‘blood, sweat and tears proposal’ – yes, you read that correctly!

“The block of land we had bought to build our forever home on was cut and accessible. I had recently bought the ring (which was an adventure to get the day before) and was itching to get down on one knee (because no man wants the responsibility of holding on to a ring for that long). I eventually convinced Linda to go to the block where I took a bottle of Moët with us that we got when we first got together. Linda complained the whole way out there. We trekked through rugged terrain in 40 degree, Linda insisted on staying as far away from me as possible (well it seemed like that at the time). Eventually I convinced her to come over to me, I said to her “have I told you how much I love you lately?” To which she replied jokingly replied “have I told you how frustrating you’ve been lately?” To which I replied with my home run swing, well I thought we could get our first picture of us on our block and we should get it as an engaged couple, and from there I made the descent down Mount Everest to be on one knee (well it seemed like that anyway), Linda started crying (tears of happiness of course) and she said yes. At the conclusion I had a sliced knee from 40 degree rocks my knee was subject to. So I came out with a wife to be a battle wound to show for my efforts. I call it the blood, sweat and tears proposal.”

So, while romance was flying high, it was their humble hearts and these sweet stories (along with a little cake from Petite Crumb) that lit up an entire night and day of fun filled celebrations.

Camille + Periti

“To the untrained eye, I’m eating an orange.

But to the eye that has brains, I’m making a point about marriage. For you see, marriage is a lot like an orange. First, you have the skin. Then the sweet, sweet innards.”
-Homer Simpson

Sometimes life can lead you into your wildest dreams, into places you didn’t know existed, into relationships you never imagined your heart would delve; and that is the true beauty of it right? the unknown, the adventure that navigates you to a place in life with a heart so full that the high-pitched laughter and oozing confidence are the qualities and quirks you love the most about each other.

For Camille and Periti, their world had become just that; days of love and laughter that quickly amounted into years of happiness and passion; a notion of life they were only to endure together. As many seasons passed, thirty-six to be exact, it was a beautiful Autumn’s day on the Riverbend Terrace of Brisbane’s Powerhouse that tears of joy overflowed as Periti read true words to his bride that promised his forever love.

“We Both never thought we would find someone to marry. It didn’t mean anything until we found each other 11 years ago.”

And every single one of their guests, including myself are so glad they did! It was evident that these two hearts were destined to be together, from a living a life of content to creating perfection within their world, Camille and Periti knew how to make the whole room shine. They were graceful yet bursting with character, honest and kind yet fun and eccentric. But most importantly they were completely true to who they are as individuals and as husband and wife and it was such a honour to capture the beginning of their forever.

Jason + Tanya

In a world where we seem to get so easily caught up in the little things, Jason and Tanya took the road of perfecting simplicity with a wedding filled with complete elegance and grace. Popping with splashes of natural foliage, Summergrove Estate stood in all its glory beaming its clean lines and divine characteristics representing not only the unity within the grounds of this spectacular wedding venue but the true love within the hearts of these two souls.

This special journey had an extra little love at its core; not only was Tanya glowing from the inside out as she was preparing to become a bride but there was an extra flutter in her heart as she was also creating the first addition to the Todorov family. Just eleven weeks in making, there was no one more special gracing their presence than the little bundle that was soon to bringing a whole new meaning of love to their family.

Eyes began to swell with happiness as the long awaited moments had arrived. The wide wooden doors opened and there she was; a blissful moment that will forever be remembered as one of his most treasured;

‘I remember the chapel doors opening and seeing my wife to be just glowing’.

Her effortless beauty floated toward him and soon thereafter, sealed with a long awaited kiss and enriched with cheer, Jason and Tanya were officially husband and wife, a family of almost three oozing with unconditional love.

It was a sneaky little online poke that led them to this state of happiness, a little whim that Tanya took that led them to finding their hearts intertwined that lead them to this unforgettable day four years on; the beginning of their forever.

Nikki + Ben

These two lovers have taken on the elements of relaxed to romantic, and everything in between. Meeting over a casual gathering with a hint of love at first sight, Ben took things to the most incredible lengths to ensure that his heart was forever bound to Nikki’s during a trip to the romance capital of the world as he asked her to be his beautiful bride.

The proposal:
“Benny proposed to me when we were sailing down the Seine River in Paris. I was busy trying to take a selfie with the Eiffel Tower in the background and I turned around to see that was down on one knee. It was definitely the most amazing night of our lives!”

See! And his attention to detail didn’t stop there; as dapper as this fine groom may be, he has a little soft spot for the quirks. Ben handmade gift boxes for his groomsmen that included a little survival pack for the wedding day with personalized socks, a belt and (of course) a little bottle of whisky – cause every groomsmen needs a little whisky to ease those pre-ceremony nerves. But all in all, there were no nerves to be had. After years of shared adventures and countless memories alike, everyone gathered knew this was a forever kind of love.
North Burleigh Surf club housed the celebration of a lifetime and although a few guests, including the groom, were stuck with a sudden case of illness, there was no denying that there was nothing but love and beauty within the air. From the way the men in her life saw the truth inside her soul, right through to the romantic florals and flow of her Made With Love gown; there was nothing but pure wedded bliss for this incredible couple on their magical wedding day.

As we strolled along the sand capturing moments of a lifetime I got to know these two for what they were all about; sharing love and living in the moment – two key elements to life that we can never have enough of!

Ryan + Kelly

Giggles, laughter, sugar and spice – these two lit up the room and everyone’s hearts lucky enough to be gathered within it. Cheeky, quirky and downright dapper, this pair were the perfect mix of eclectic love that screamed individuality yet oozed with kindness and humbleness alike.

The Budgie Smuggler housed what was a perfect reflection of Ryan and Kelly’s unique love. Its diverse décor aligned perfectly with the style of their day and the scattered neon lights surrounding brightened up what was already the most incredible atmosphere, yet complimented the relaxed vibes with its splashes of liquor and hella’ lot of fun!

But how did it all get to this point? Well, in all seriousness Kelly wasn’t going to let this one get away. She had found the gentleman and that had stolen her heart and she knew what she had to do.

“I met Ryan in Perth, through his skateboarding friend Brady! He wasn’t much interested in me but I was persistent!”

And so it was, her persistence paid off and after the losing a bet about on Australia Day about The Rubens getting #1 on the J’s Hottest 100, Ryan got down on my knee and asked Kelly to be his forever love.

They had created the most flawless wedding celebration that truly combined every piece of their hearts and capturing these special moments came so naturally with each of them so comfortable within themselves and each other’s love.

Hayley and James
When you sit there and tell your lover that this ‘this is the song I really want at our wedding’, even before you’re engaged, you know you have found yourself a keeper. A keeper of your heart, soul and every piece of you for the rest of your life.

James and Hayley met in a whirlwind of fun in what seems like a lifetime ago, but it wasn’t until a little while later they found themselves once again within the company of who they knew they wanted to be with every single day and both made sure they didn’t have to be without. But this sort of Joy just seems to be their way of life. Each moment of their wedding beamed with such radiance that capturing such effortless love and the perfect moments surrounding was truly spectacular. James and Hayley themselves had the biggest smiles I had ever seen, their contagious happiness and laughter spilled out to all those attending and created what was simply the perfect celebration for their forever love.

Summergrove estate blossomed as beautiful as ever with its glowing scenery and picturesque grounds as Hayley strolled through in her French lace, Grace Loves Lace, gown complimented by the subtle hues of her blush pink-toned bridesmaids. And, as the day turned into night, the kind words and narration of their love unfolded, the sky became lit with festoon lights and a breathtaking night unveiled the beginning of their journey with that special dance, to that special song Hayley had always dreamed about.

Eve + Jordan

The way he looked at her said it all. He held her close, kissed her with passion, but it was just the way he smiled with his whole body when his eyes locked on to her – the kind you see in the Hollywood movies, but so much better, because this was not a film or an act, it was the real, raw love he felt for his beautiful wife.

So, where did this all start? There was a whole lot of bonding over their love for diving and as fate had it, after a lack of visibility in the water during one diving session, their whole world became a lot clearer. An afternoon of adventures led to a lot more ‘hanging out’, and when you grow to miss this person more and more every time they are not around, well you know it’s something so much more special than you had ever imagined.

Now, due to ‘confidentiality concerns’, the approving fathers had to take to the highest levels of secrecy after Jordan had professed his ultimate love and asked Eve’s father’s permission to marry his incredible daughter. Both fathers had to take matters into their own hands and kept their excitement levels to themselves knowing that even a mother’s love wouldn’t be able to contain this. It wasn’t until the voyage of a lifetime that Eve and Jordan could share their good news with the rest of the world awaiting.

“The Silver Fox arrived at Sydney Harbour on 29 December 2015 and anchored in Rose Bay for the New Year’s Eve Celebrations. Jordan had prepped everyone on the boat and told them his plans to propose (so when he gave the cue they all new to disappear). After the 10pm fireworks on the bow of the boat, Jordan proposed and Eve said YES! If Eve had said ‘no’, Jordan would have thrown her overboard to made his own way back to QLD”, and thank goodness that didn’t happen because this was one celebration not to be missed.

Showered in rose petals after the long-awaited words of ‘I do’, Eve and Jordan took some time to dance among the sunset, have quiet moments alone and take in these moments that they had forever dreamed of – that feeling of eternal love, everlasting happiness.

Jared + Daniella

“What does marriage mean to you? Being each other’s forever”

The night before their wedding could not have been filled with any more anticipation if it tried. Spending the night separated by just a few walls and couple of hotel floors, Jared and Daniella waited eagerly for the sun to do a full turn to bring out the day that they had both been dreaming of – the day Jared could finally call his whole heart, his wife.

Now, not every love comes with so much sureness about it, but not only did Jared know that she was the one from the very beginning, he truly knew the love their shared was so deep and unique that he had planned a surprise engagement party for the night of his proposal and when Daniella was bursting with joy at the top of Pokolbin Mountain, champagne bottles were poppin’ below awaiting her unexpected arrival.

“All our family and friends knew the plan; she was the only one in the dark. I bought the ring and had her dad hide it for me (after asking permission of course). I then took Daniela to the top of Pokolbin Mountain in the Hunter Valley with a picnic prepared, I was nervous so I quickly got down on one knee and asked her to marry me. Thankfully the answer was yes, as I had planned a surprise engagement party that same night with all of our family, who also travelled to the Hunter Valley to surprise her.”

As for the day, well it was pure magic. A wanderlust affair with a festoon lit outdoor dancefloor on the stunning grounds of Ecostudio Fellini and a bunch of incredible friends and family to match. The love that was felt for these two souls was out of this world and the minimalistic style surrounding made for the perfect day as the individual hearts and quirks of relationship love stood out more than ever, a true delight and pleasure to capture and be a part of.

A million moons will come and go, but a love like this will last for a lifetime and beyond. Everlasting happiness to you both.

Stephanie + Nicholas

They were once oceans apart, but that magical thing we call love just somehow managed to swindle its way into these two hearts and turn what was once just a friendship of laughter into lifetime of love.

As their true happiness rolled on through the years with countless memories, there were none quite like the moments leading up to and including the day they became husband and wife, an experience built on the notion that “marriage means lots of fun and laughter whilst supporting each other through the journey of life.” – I mean, hey, what more could you want in life right?! Over a quaint little picnic in one of Stephanie’s favourite locations, Nicholas knew he wanted to spend every sleeping and waking moment with this beauty by his side and wasted no time in asking her to be his forever love.

“Nick proposed to me by taking me on a picnic to my favourite park on the Gold Coast. This park was special to me as it is where I used to take my old dog all the time for walks and where we spread his ashes when he passed away a few years ago. Our new pup, Moose, was witness to Nick asking the question. I was shocked and when Nick got down on one knee by the creek my first reaction and response was “ARE YOU SERIOUS?!” We then enjoyed some champagne and a picnic, with Moose in the background feeling very unloved and forgotten as we were just so happy and excited! It was absolutely perfect.”
While puppy Moose wasn’t ultimately impressed as he watched on to Nick’s proposal, there were no eyes more special than the that of Stephanie’s 102-year-old Grandma who was fortunate enough to attend their wedding at the ever so stunning Gabbinar Homestead with the fullest of hearts and utmost happiness as she celebrated such an incredible day with two of her favourite people.

When two people whom are loved so dearly come together as one, the moments that surround are a surreal form bliss for all. From an afternoon of garden party grazing through to dancing the night away under a starry-storm spectacular, this night of love became truly unforgettable.

Jessica and Luke
She was glowing like no other, his head was held high; those magical moments when they enter their journey as one, were about to begin…
In a relationship of ever-growing love, you relish in the idiosyncrasies of one another, you love with every inch of your soul and you do all those tiny little things that make moments melt and set hearts a flutter – It’s these tiny gestures that made for the dreamiest of wedding days for Luke and Jess, and makes their love so unique.
It’s not every day you get to wake up next to that special guy you call your husband, roll over and see the words he said so truly to you on your magical day embedded into his skin - A little treasure that will be kept forever, and a surprise for his bride on the night of their wedding, Luke tattooed those fine little words to remind them both that their love is forever eternal. And if that wasn’t enough spontaneity for this fine day, the cute little words of ‘Happy Wedding Day’ sung by their sweet little son, added the cherry to the top of that white iced cake!
But not an hour of this fine day was unseen – early morning preparations began with the sun as the Bride and her loves pampered their way through the early hours. Luke and his dapper gentleman alike hit a little salt on the sandy shores of the east coast before the time kicked in and it was off the grounds of Summergrove Estate to mark the occasion of a lifetime.
Capturing this day was pure bliss, and blissful is how they will forever be.
Congratulations Luke and Jess!

Lauren + Sam

What does marriage mean to you? “Waking up together every morning, supporting each other through every day”
Love can find you in the wildest of worlds with the most incomparable people, but it can also be right next to you, during a time when you didn’t quite feel like you were searching for such a divine state of mind – and that’s the best kind, when it sneaks up on you so quickly that you still haven’t quite caught your breath until you’re resting in each other’s arms on the magical morning you wake up as one.

During a quiet moment alone in a little hotel room overlooking the streets of Amsterdam, Sam’s soul exploded with emotion seeking out the love in Lauren’s heart it had been longing for. Adding an extra kick in their step and whole lot of light to their life, Lauren took his hand and said yes to joining him on this journey they would now call eternity.

The love and kindness of family and friends was truly intertwined throughout every inch of the day. With the joy of sealing their love under a handmade arbour right through to witnessing the mastering touches on the paper stationary and typography, Lauren and Sam had the honour of feeling truly blessed with the bride’s sisters and partner making sure a little mark of their heart was left by creating these stunning pieces.

For me there are always a million stand out captures of a wedding day, from the unforgettable tears, the raw emotions right through to the unique little touches of each individual story. But when the fine little tune of the Foo Fighters, Everlong, began tingle with all its might, it was a heart melting moment for all. This special song aligned moments of complete passion as Lauren and Sam took to the stage together for the first-time husband and wife. There is no doubt this song has now embedded itself right down into the soul of all of those who were fortunate enough to witness the love of Lauren and Sam – and what a perfect little addition to take away from such a blissful day!

Thank you for letting capture your raw love and honest hearts.

Mitchell J Carlin Wedding Photographer

A little bit about me.
I have always had that burning desire to create; that intrinsic notion to produce something from nothing. I want to create things for people that not just captures, but emotes; I want them to feel something.
For me, it at all started out in the early years of adulthood, when that first bite of creativity came to me in the form of music. While I was playing in bands all I wanted to do was to make people feel as strongly for the music as I did; I had created something and I wanted to express this to others near and far. Our band travelled for a bit, playing shows in all sorts of different places. We slept in garages, on floors, on park benches and in buses – but it didn’t matter, we were captivated by the creative process which fueled it. I always knew I would never “make it” as a musician, but try telling that to someone in their early 20s. I can honestly say, I knew that the music path was the wasn’t the right one. It may have been due to my lack of skill when playing an instrument, who knows? But it got me thinking about why I was so passionate about creating and it all boiled down to creating emotions within people that they didn’t know they had.
So how did it get me to pick up a camera you ask? Well, I had studied photography in an art class during high school and while it didn’t initially strike me as what would soon become my ‘career path’, I really enjoyed it. Admittedly, that enjoyment was less than the post-grad freedom, but let’s be honest, I think that happens to a lot of young adults who don’t have a clue what comes next (whom then decide to join a band to find their inner self – yep, I know.)
However, being free from the tunnel vision of music, I remembered my high school romance with photography quite fondly. It does sound weird to imply that I had forgotten I had such a burning passion, but I did.
It was soon after this that I found an old an old camera my Grandmother had given me. My Grandmother was an extremely special person in my life; a very inspiring woman. Having found this piece after she had passed, it instantly brought back every memory I had of her. I knew that I wanted other people to feel that exact same feeling I had and the tool to produce that was right there in my hands. The burning desire to create had reignited and was spreading like wild fire. It was that lightning bolt of inspiration that put me where I am today (thank you Grandma).
I worked out quickly that it was people I liked to photograph. I (still) love the idea that in a split second you can freeze an expression and keep it forever. More importantly, capture an emotion you can relive over and over again, and that is why to me, wedding photography is not only an expression of your love, but an expression of my art.
Plain and simple. I want you to feel what I feel, and I want to feel what you feel. The end result is a part of me as much as it is a part of you. I pour my heart into striving to capture moments that reflect your love through my art.

Adam + Winnie

“A new chapter in life; a commitment and a promise to grow together and take care of each other together”

The tranquil surroundings of Tamborine Mountain set for the moodiest of scenes as what was once two hearts spread across oceans now formed into an unbreakable bond; the wedding of Adam and Winnie.
Life will forever place you in wondrous places at the most unlikely of times, and little did these two know that the exotic shores of Sri Lanka would turn out to be the sentimental grounds that would hold the beginning of a life filled with utter bliss, worldly travels and a whole lot of love.

“We met while travelling Sri Lanka for a friend’s wedding, I was a friend of the bride and Adam a friend of the groom. We started talking and dancing together. We took a short walk on the beach after the wedding, we decided to exchange contacts and two months later I made my first trip to Canada to visit Adam, meeting his family and friends. We fell in love and decided to pack our bags to London and spent the following two years in Europe. My UK visa got expired and had to come home to Oz and Adam followed me.”
It was an Australian wonder of the Great Barrier Reef, Herron Island that sealed the love that Adam had found within Winnie’s heart; proposing on one of their famous late night walks, Adam asked another traveler passing by to stop and take a picture, little did Winnie know this was the second trip that would make a mark on their lives and totally go down as one of the most incredible holidays to date.

Inspiring and nurturing are the words that come to mind having witnessed the love shared between Adam and Winnie. Staying true to their desire to live life to the fullest, open their minds to experiences that have not yet delved into, it leaves you wondering what is in store for the next chapter of their beautiful life together. One thing for sure is it will not be monotonous, it will not be restricted with boundaries or be seemingly predictable.

What a beautiful love to let run free. Next stop, Madagascar honeymoon.

Paula and William had a four year chase before finally getting together but the wait was worth it for both of them.

After organising a massage during a stay at Spicers at the Hidden Vale Grandchester, William proposed to Paula on bent knee surrounded by roses and champagne. Paula describes her heart melted and then again upon returning to their cabin after dinner to find it filled with candles and rose petals.

To reflect the couple’s personality they chose a garden ceremony and vintage DIY feel wedding at Gabbinbar Homestead in Toowoomba.

Both Paula and William agree their stand out moment of the day was the quiet moment they had post wedding photography in the Bride’s retreat. Paula describes “When we finished our photos Will and I just went to the bride’s retreat to have some quiet time and we just sat there and had our canapés while drinking, I took my heels off for abit haha and we just sat and spoke about our day before the rest of the bridal party came back in, it was a lovely moment to share as newly married hubby and wife.”

Taya and Chris

“Marriage is the ongoing reminder of the commitment that you have made to each other to always be there to support, inspire and push one another to enjoy more than you ever could on your own.”

Their adventurous love began on the streets of a childhood home with afternoon games of soccer and child-play alike. As the years carried on the visits became less frequent; it wasn’t until a little fate (a dress up party and few too many bottles of spirits) bought them back together and a spark rekindled. Their relationship quickly flourished into a beautiful life of spontaneity and crazy in love decisions.
Adding to the excitement and adventure, Chris and Taya decided to get a little worldly and set off into the heights of the sky and over to South America. It was here, among the indescribable colours of the sunrise at the Sun Gate overlooking Machu Picchu that Chris asked his love to spend her lifetime by his side, to create incredible love and even more memorable moments.

“Once we decide to do something, it happens very quickly (like getting married 2 months after getting engaged). Right on cue, we are excited to welcome a new addition to the family with the arrival of a baby girl in November”

These super-chilled lovers spent the morning of their big day just taking it all in. It was yoga overlooking the ocean in Broadbeach for Taya and her girlfriends, while Chris stayed true to the more ‘manly’ kind of style and laid low with his mates sipping on the two favourite brews, coffee and beer!
It was onto Broadwater Parklands for those sentimental words – the ones that will forever be embedded into the hearts of one another, the ones that promise eternal love and whole hearted happiness – then the celebration began and lasted well into the night with Chris pulled Taya from the dance floor at about midnight while the car had already been waiting for half an hour!
.
“Our first dance was to ‘Lay It Down’ by the Rubens; we had seen the Rubens live a few years earlier and spontaneously started slow dancing in crowd of people at a festival to this song. It is the only song ever that we have ever been able dance to together as neither of us have any dancing skills whatsoever”

Adventure begins with the desire to take on challenges with an optimistic attitude of conquering everything you are faced with, together, hand in hand, with your one true love. Enjoy the adventure of life you will endure together and relish in the ups, the downs and everything in between.

Rachael + Nic
"... a promise, to love, respect and support each in a life shared as one. To always have each other’s back, and work together through the hardest of times - to communicate and grow."

It was the celebration of celebrations, the kind that ended (or began, depends what way you look at it) with Espresso Martinis at 2am and long loud chants of celebration– but this was far from any standard celebration, and more phenomenal than any wedding dream Rachel and Nick could have imagined.

A million memories were created during a night of classic moments and unforgettable tales as guests danced around the minimalistic Lightspace venue with full drinks in hand and the happiest of hearts. The incredible band, BenJam, added a little extra spice and quadrupled their band size as they handed out instruments and trinkets for all the guests to use as they joined in on a little melody makin’. The energy levels were high and the ever-growing dance floor was certainly the place to be - It was truly one incredible celebration of love.

But let’s take a step back for just a moment; In September 2013, Rachel and Nick entered a blind date at the Glass Restaurant Marina Mirage on the Gold Coast. It was love at first sight and soon after, Nick’s love instantly doubled after meeting Rachel’s number one man, her son Matthew. Their love quickly grew into a forever and on a mid-deployment trip to Bali, Nick knew exactly where his heart was to reside and asked Rachel to be his wife. The rest, as they say, is history.

Define your relationship in 3 words? Blessed, hilarious, grateful
What stands out about your partner?
Groom: A strong and motivated woman who loves her family dearly. Despite being miniature in size her personality is capable of filling a room; her laugh is infectious - she is just absolutely beautiful.
Bride: Other than his giant like statue, his goofy way he will attempt to be funny and then laugh uncontrollably when he isn’t. His adorable big brown eyes that only get bigger when he looks at his kids and his kindness to everyone that crosses his path.
Your stand out moments from the day: For me it was the ceremony; Nick wrote commitment vows to my son. He promised to love and support him forever – it was so humbling; I fell totally in love with him all over again at that moment. __
When he tells you that he loves the most in just your jeans and a t-shirt, but loses his breath and giggles like a school girl when he sees you as flawless as ever in your stunning wedding gown, well that right is true love - that the kind that lasts forever and day.

Memorable moments and even more glorious adventures lay ahead. Enjoy the bliss and the love that follows. Congrats Rachael and Nic

Jess + Andrew

With unique love comes unique souls, and with unique souls comes an abundance of character, personality and whole lot of moments that fill your belly with that warm kind of laughter. Capturing the humble love of Jess and Andrew was exactly that; a day of endless energies, effortless perfection and cheeky pieces of their true selves sprinkled throughout that perfectly aligned with their bursting personalities.

Finding the true character of someone that completely connects with yours does not always come easy – but when the Bride and Groom both mention metal music and wedding in the same sentence, how could it be anything but true love? Jess described her stand out moments from the day with words such as; ‘fireworks, golf carts and Metal music’, while Andrew complimented it ever so perfectly with ‘Fireworks, fantastic music and unorthodox fun’ – but it was the tune that accompanied Jess down that aisle that they loved the most; watching the guests look as on as the graceful bride herself walked elegantly down the aisle to the Darth Vader’s Star Wars theme song, The Imperial Death March.

Ticking boxes for guests that they I dare say they have never experienced, Jess and Andrew’s day of true happiness reflected they style, love and individuality more than ever before – but this didn’t stop the romantic from oozing out of Andrew, oh no - his admiration for Jess had romance written all over it and we have the incredibly intimate proposal story to prove it

The Proposal:

A three-month holiday across Scandinavia, Europe and the USA was set in their sights with their first stop in Norway. Jetlag in tow, Jess and Andrew didn’t waste any time exploring the exquisite city of Oslo – little did Jess know that this breathtaking exploration was more or less a scouting mission for Andrew find the perfect location for her hand in his eternity.

A little restaurant housed pizza, wine and milkshakes; candlelit stone walls, good food – this place had a good vibe to it – the time had come. A little after dinner wander led to find the perfect sunset on the hill of a fort that overlooked the river. Jess’ second favourite flower, snapdragons, were sprouting forth from pots beside the path and just as the sun was setting, Andrew got down on one knee – the rest, as they say, is history.

Everyone deserves to love and to be loved; it is by far the greatest gift in life. Jess and Andrew, I truly believe that this will forever be one of the most cherished gifts you will ever receive from one another. Love forms through the adventures of minutes and days, so enjoy every second that lies ahead.

"
Mitch your photos of Renee and pete's wedding are amazing. You captured their happiness perfectly. Every photo of Renee and pete is a reflection of them, from the tears of joy on Petes face as he sees Renee for the first time to that look on renee's face at the reception , when I think pete was talking about limiting something.
Your work is a pleasure to look at. I have your photos on my laptop and I would look at them every week, they bring me joy."

Thank you.

Renee and Peter
One of the many reasons we take pictures is to capture a moment in time; to convey a message or to tell a story. Most of the time it’s the pictures that spill a thousand words – speaking of worldly wonders, creating a emotions we didn’t know we had and telling tales of journeys that not even the most intricate of words could describe; then sometimes the narration of these captures lead to the most beautiful love stories, the kind illustrators can’t always paint – Renee and Peter painted their perfect picture for us, with words from their heart that will make you melt, giggle and having you feeling their love from beyond.

What does marriage mean to you?

Renee: Marriage is becoming a team with your best friend. It means learning things about each other for the rest of our lives, every now and then there will be a storm but the beauty of marriage is that if you have picked the right person and you both love each other, you can weather that storm together and get through it.

Peter: Whatever Renee tells me it means…haha!. Renee promised me we could have babies once we were married so yeah… No, it means I can spend the rest of my life with the beautiful woman I adore and I can truly be myself with.

What stands out about your partner?

Renee: He is a such a caring man who just loves his family so much. He has amazing blue eyes and long lashes (it’s not fair for a male to have!), and he lets me eat Nutella from the jar without judgement. – now that is true love!

As the sun set over the serene grounds of Summer Grove Estate, Renee and Peter set foot into an adventure of their own; the incredible world of marriage. This place is not a destination but an eternity of journeys, a million days you get to spend with the one who makes your soul truly happy and your heart completely full – and while the European Honeymoon adventure begins in just a few months, who knows what will be install for a lifetime of happiness on their return – maybe Peter will get his promise after all!

Tom and Elise
Her hair flowed effortlessly down the aisle behind her intricate gown, her smile beamed. He stood in awe of what he saw; his wife, his life partner; a reflection of his soul walking toward him, ready to begin an adventure like no other.
It wasn’t her flawless glow, her incredible florals, or even her softly woven waves that made his heart melt – it was her soulful smile, her genuine heart and her illuminating energy that had him captivated with every breath – nothing needed to be said, their love filled the air from the moment they laid eyes on each other, and everyone could feel it.
Tom and Elise sealed their love exactly five years on from their very first beginning. As their time together grew, so did their undying passion for one another. Tom knew Elise’s heart is exactly where he wanted to reside. On the Pilipino island of El Nido, Tom asked Elise the words she had been dreaming of. Hand written in the sand, he pointed down to the beach from a cliff where she saw the words, ‘Will you marry me?’ from afar. She turned around to find Tom on one knee, holding what will forever a be a symbol of their eternity.

Wedding days can be filled with all sorts of crazy emotions, but Tom and Elise did not even flinch – not even for a second. It was clear that both had found their haven and their home within each other – and it was beyond beautiful to witness.
Relaxed and intimate were just a few of the notions being thrown around on this magical day, while unforgettable and incredible spring to mind when I think about how the afternoon lived on.
The picturesque valleys of The Secret Hill at Mavis’ Kitchen will forever be their grounding, the exquisite dining forever holding treasured memories of shared laughter over the perfect amount of ‘a little too much champagne’ and a whole lot of love.
There is no doubt the rest of your lives will be filled with exquisite and wondrous adventures together.

Sofie and Kurt

“behind every good man, is a good woman, but when it comes to marriage she is right beside you.”

A kind heart is always the first thing to be noticed within a soul, its genuine nature is captivating, elating and completely euphoric in all its forms – it is a cocktail of emotions that leaves you giddy with every message, every touch, and is the exact mixture of honest devotion that made Kurt and Sofie fall so deeply in love. Each love story is so perfectly unique, it has distinguishing characteristics, laughable moments and tales that kept in the heart of one another. But the beginning of this tale between Kurt and Sofie began so unexpectedly with back to back online chats, and before their monthly membership had expired, telephone numbers were exchanged and it was all out on the table. Who would have thought that this would be their forever?

But when you know you know, and Kurt knew there was not another moment to be missed without Sofie as his life partner, his wife. After six months of wondrous love was already in tow, Kurt secured that special place in Sofie’s heart and asked her for her hand in marriage. Not a detail was left unturned in the planning of his proposal, and other than opening the that tiny little detailed box upside down, every aspect of those spectacular moments was completely surreal.

The Proposal:
As they started to walk down a set of stairs, Sofie noticed a little romantic table with wine. She began to question Kurt, "what have you done?!", but there was no need for him to answer – he simply got down on one knee and took their love to a whole new level. Not one of them can remember the words that Kurt had rehearsed in his mind a thousand times, but it didn’t matter, between kneeling and opening the ring box (which Sofie kindly pointed out had opened upside down), they were completely and utterly mesmerized. She said yes, of course, ‘who wouldn't marry a handsome country man?’. Then, out of nowhere, Sofie's sister appeared from the outskirts capturing such precious moments, followed by a trail of hiding family who came celebrate in the glory of their love.

It was such a privilege to witness two lovers walking into a marriage with such peace and harmony. Success in love is not about finding the right person, but being the right person, and there is no doubt that success is what completely awaits.

A little bit about Bonny and Dwayne <3

Bonny and Dwayne met 10 years ago at Schoolies week on the Gold Coast. Dwayne popped the question with a little help from
Bonny’s best friend, who helped to make plans for the 2 girls to climb Mt Ngungun, one of the Glass House Mountains. When they got to the top of the mountain, Dwayne was waiting there, ready to propose and of course she said yes!

Bonny and Dwayne’s wedding was held at Hillstone, St Lucia in Brisbane. The Ceremony was held in the secret courtyard followed by the reception being held in the Rosewood Room and Library Bar. Opting for Antipasto platter’s and a dessert bar left their guests ‘super impressed’. The ceremony and post Wedding Photography were all shot within the grounds of the venue.

Including special details at their celebration was a way to ensure they’re day was as relaxed and perfect as they had planned. Being officiated by a close friend Natalie, A ‘Blessing of the Hands’ by the couples mutal friend Jacqui, having both Mothers as ring bearers for the ceremony and Bonny’s ‘Old & Blue’ being an over 100 year old family handkerchief. Let’s not forget the excellent idea of using Uber X cars for the bridal parties.

The final impromptu last dance was to Home by Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zero’s before Bonny and Dwayne left in style through a sparkler send off.
