In Mid 2014 I received a phone call from a couple who had already booked their wedding day with me. Their wedding was to be held in the Sunshine Coast, about an hour north of Brisbane. I answered the phone and within less than 2 minutes of conversation, you could have knocked me over with a feather.
“Hello Mitch Speaking”
“Hi Mitch its Nicole Bell”
“Hi Nicole great to hear from you, whats up?
“Umm We have moved the location and date of our wedding, I hope this is ok?”
“No worries by me as long as I have the time available, where have you moved it too?
“New York City”
“New York City, We want to get Married in New York and we still want you to be our photographer, is this ok?”
This is where, after gathering myself I probably said a few words that can’t be repeated.
So, on March 8th 2015, I flew to New York City to photograph Alex and Nicoles Wedding. It was not your typical Wedding. There were no guests. Just Nicole and Alex, the Celebrant and myself. It was an amazing experience, one that I will never forget. The Plan was a simple one, hire a driver, get dropped off at our chosen photo locations, get to Brooklyn Bridge Park by 2pm for the ceremony, go have Mexican for lunch, shoot a few more photos and call it a day. Oh I forgot to mention Nicole had her make up done by one of the major Broadway/Tv MUP Artists in NYC.
